Mrs. Holloway was born December 31, 1925 in Grayson County, Texas to Fred Lawrence and Iva Lou (Hix) Leverette. After attending school in the Bethany Community, she graduated from Sherman High School. Nadine fell in love with her best friend's brother, Ben Holloway, the first time she saw him. They married in Tuscon, Arizona on August 31, 1943. She worked many jobs over the years, but her priority was her home and church. Being a military wife for 26 years, she kept the home fires burning during Ben's many absences. After retiring to Abilene, she worked at the Abilene Christian Schools. They later moved to "the farm" in Clyde. Innumerable people were taught by Nadine in Sunday School, VBS, ladies' classes, ladies' retreats and through her wonderful example to us all. She was called Mema, Aunt Nadine, Gladys, Mama Dean, cousin, teacher, Mama, sister and wife by the multitudes of family and friends who love her. She is survived by three daughters and their families, Martha Holloway and Tony Quinn and their son and family, Shannon, Amanda and Quinn Holloway of the San Francisco Bay area, Janie and Glenn Smith and their children, Dale, Michelle and Ashton Smith and Kaleb Devlin, Sara Smith and Patrick Brown, all of the Abilene area, Carol and Mike Andersen and their son, Mike, Jr. of Flower Mound; one brother, Rev. Jake and Peggy Leverette of Alberta, Canada and a large extended family of Leverettes and Holloways. She was preceded in death by her parents, many aunts and uncles and her husband in March, 2004. Nadine was hospitalized since May 5, 2005 and was treated with great respect, love and care by her physician, nurses, aides, housekeepers, dietary hostesses and everyone she met. The family would like to express their gratitude to her physician and the staff of A3, C6, P7, A6 and A7. Donations may be made to the Medina Children's Home, c/o Clyde Church of Christ, P.O.
