Grand Island Daily Independent Tuesday 20 August 1946 Mrs. Ida May Weston 80, widow of Thomas A. Weston and a former resident of Hamilton county, died yesterday morning in a local hospital. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. H.W. Holverson, pastor of the First Christian church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home. Burial will be in Grand Island cemetery. Mrs. Weston was born in Shenandoah, Iowa January 12, 1866 to Henry and Ann Brown. She was married there Oct. 13, 1887 to Thomas A. Weston. The following spring, Mr. and Mrs. Weston came to Murphy, in Hamilton county to make their home. They resided there until 1932 when they came to Grand Island. Mr. Weston died Sept. 21, 1932. Mrs. Weston was baptized in the Christian church and continued her membership in that church. She maintained no social affiliations. She is survived by her only child, Mrs. Claude I. Newton, Grand Island; one brother N.S. Brown, Aurora; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Beside her husband and parents she was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock Tuesday evening at the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home.
