Leona Smola Lohmeyer Leona Smola Lohmeyer, 91, of Kingfisher died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Cimarron Nursing Center. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First united Methodist Church in Kingfisher with the Rev. Michael Strange officiating. Burial will follow in Kingfisher Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Service in Kingfisher. She was born Aug. 30, 1918, near Miami, Texas, to Herbert C. and Lily D. Hill. She graduated from Kingfisher High School. She married Eddie Smola on July 28, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later married William "Bill" Lohmeyer. She was employed at Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, retiring Sept. 1, 1983. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Church Circle, Iris Club, Kingfisher Study Club and Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include one son, Norman Smola and wife Jane of Stillwater; three daughters, Sylvia Ann Florence and husband Charles of McLoud, Barbara Bollenbach and husband Claude of Kingfisher and Karen Wirt and husband Jim of Stillwater; two brothers, John Hill and wife Helen of Lincoln, Neb., and Donald Hill and wife Ruby of Fritch, Texas; one sister-in-law, Thelma Bell Hill of Choctaw; two stepdaughters, Sylvia Gilmour and husband John of Kingfisher and Nancy Selby and husband David of Oklahoma City; one stepson, Jay Lohmeyer and wife Janet of Enid; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren, and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, one son, Terry Smola, four brothers, three sisters, and one grandson.
