DALLAS ~ William Joseph Gibson Sr., 65, of Dallas R-2, died in a Gastonia hospital Tuesday at 7 p.m. He was connected to Tommy's Drive-In here. He leaves his widow, Barbara Rogers Gibson; two sons, William J. Jr., and Thomas M., both of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. George Genzer of Weimar, Tex.; five brothers, Raymond, John, Henry, all of Columbus, N.C., Ralph of Hickory and James of Landrum, S.C.; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Jones of Columbua, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at Carothers Funeral Home Colonial Chapel. The Rev. John Kinnaman of Love Memorial Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 o'clock tonight. He was born in Marshtown, Tenn. Feb. 15, 1901, the son of the late William James and Martha Gibson.
