Published in the Athens Review September 29, 1949 Funeral services for William I. Bruton, 68, who died in a Jacksonville hospital Friday, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Church of Christ at Poynor. The services were conducted by Evangelist Long of Cayuga, and interment was in the Poynor Cemetery. Mr. Bruton, a farmer, had resided in the Poynor community for twenty years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mae Bruton of Poynor; three sons, J.B. Bruton of Pharr, H.R. Bruton of Poynor and W.E. Bruton of Las Cruces, New Mexico; four daughters, Mrs. D.V. Robnett of Klondike, Mrs. H.W. Olson of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Mrs. H.R. Chesnut of Cooper and Mrs. T.L. Manning of Pharr; and two brothers and three sisters.
