* parents: Lewis Gerald and Madge Ramelle "Crittenden" Brand * lived in Clarke and Union counties before moving to rural Mount Ayr in 1937 * graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1939 * farmed with his father and brothers * married in 1948 (spouse living) * started Brand Standard Service in March of 1952 and continued operating it until it closed October 18, 1990 * then worked for Dick Green, Kelly Main and Smith Oil * preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Merle and Gladys Reynolds; brothers Harold and Dean, and sister Margaret; brothers-in-law Ainslee Triggs, Robert Schafer, Lyle Gilliland, Walter Cobb, Frank Reynolds, Burl Reynolds, Dick Campbell; sisters-in-law Ginger Gaule, Jean Robertson, and Deloris Reynolds * survived by his wife of 63 years, 3 sons and 1 daughter and their families, some siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
