BURLINGTON - Ethelyn Rose Baumeister 84, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at home surrounded by her family and prayers. On June 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to August Charles Baumeister at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Geranium, NE. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Lynn was a homemaker. During WWII she was a Western Union teletype operator. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington, past president of St. Mary's Ladies Guild, "co-founder" of St. Mary's Fall Festival, member of St. Mary's Church Re-building Committee after the fire in 1977, St. Mary's Christian Mothers' Society, Burlington Lioness Club and Bohner's Lake Homemakers Club. One of her greatest enjoyments in life was her winter home and friends in Citrus Park at Bonita Beach, Fla. Survivors include her husband, Augie Baumeister, children, Dave (Shirley) Baumeister of Burlington, Laurie (Ron) Leach of Adams, Carol (Brett) Smith of Frederick, Colo, grandchildren, Bart Baumeister, Bridget (Craig) Stillman, Keith (Julie) Leach, Sara (fiance, Adam Gleiss) Leach, Andy (Valerie) Sweet, Ben Sweet, Meghan (Matt) Ghiloni, great-grandchildren, Ada and Sam Stillman, Gavin Leach and Natalie Sweet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington with Rev. James Volkert officiating. Private inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday, November 22nd from 4 - 6 p.m. at CHURCH. Memorials have been suggested to St. Mary's Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Webber, nurse Lois and Aurora VNA Hospice of Lake Geneva for their wonderful support and care given to both Mom and Dad.
