Funeral Rites For Mrs. Nickols Held At Pickton Funeral services for Mrs. Tressie Vela Nickels; 62; a native of Winnsboro, who died Tuesday at her home in Pickton, were held at two-thirty Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Pickton. Rev. R. E. Lunceford of Gilmer, Rev. Jimmy Wood and Rev. T. W, Miley of Pickton were officiating ministers. Burial was in Pickton Cemetery under the direction of McCrary-Waggoner Edwards. Tressa Vela Doyle was born on April 29, 1906 in Winnsboro. She was married in July, 1921 to Albert C. Nickols, who survives her. One son died in World War II. Survivors other than her husband included six children. HarryLee Nickols, Sulphur Springs; Joe Dan Nickols and Frankie Joy Nickols, Dallas; Mary Ann Nickols, Albuquerque, N. M.; Thomas Ray Nickols and David Anthony Nickols, Pickton; three brothers, Ernest Doyle, Longview; W. A. Doyle Jr. and E. J. Doyle, Mineola and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Orr, Homer Hawthorne, Ralph Kimmons, Johnny Folmar, Ernest Neighbors and Mart Alford. Mrs. Nickols was a member of Pickton First Baptist Church.
