Bio

Martha Edith Marie (Horinek) Heble, 83, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Rawlins County Hospital in Atwood, Kansas. Martha was born July 29, 1927, a twin daughter of Mary (Kacirck) and Stanley J. Horinek on the family farm in Driftwood Township, Rawlins County, Kansas. Martha graduated from Notre Dame Academy High School in Omaha, Nebraska in 1945. She then attended college in Greeley, Colorado in 1946 obtaining a teaching certificate during World War II and taught in local Kansas country schools. On Aug. 19, 1947, she married Clarence R. Heble at St. John's Catholic Church in rural Atwood. To this union five children were born. The couple lived on a farm south of Trenton until 1990 when they moved into town. Martha was a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of the Altar Societies of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, St. James Cathlic Church and Trenton's Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Marrie Dean; sister, Regina Wilkens; and brother, Dennis Horinek. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Heble of Trenton; children, Alena and husband, John of Port Angeles, Washington, Milton and wife, Kimberly of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Alleyn and wife, Diana of Lawrence, Kansas, Colette and husband, Dallas of Ulysses, Kansas, and Mae Lee and husband, Kelly of Loveland, Colorado; sisters, Edith Vrbas of Atwood, Kansas, and Marge Dean of Virginia Beach ,Virginia; brother, Stanley Horinek of Salina, Kansas; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Interment was in the St. James Catholic Cemetery of Trenton, NE.
