He was born in Winnsboro on May 24, 1937 to the late Barney and Mae McLeroy Murphy. He was a retired concrete foreman, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Bonnie Loy. He is survived by his daughter, Judy Elaine Murphy Edwards of Longview; sons, Raymond Murphy of Winnsboro, Raymon Richard and wife Amy of Paris; sisters, Lila Kersey of Daingerfield, Dot Shirley and husband Nadios of Winnsboro; brothers, Bill Murphy and wife Lucy of Winnsboro, Walter Murphy of Winnsboro; significant other, Karen Stiles of Winnsboro; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
