Don Minor, 87, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on October 28, 1923 in Virginia to the late Mack Daniel and Myrtle Rosa Minor. He retired as an accountant for National Southwire Aluminum and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 63-1/2 years, Gladys O. Minor; his children, Janice Minor Gregory (Russell) of Owensboro, Maggie Kay Minor (Larry) of Glen Ellyn, IL, Dan E. Minor of Nashville, TN and Jerry L. Griffin (Sylvia) of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren, Kimberly Gregory, David Griffin, Stephen Griffin, Chris Newman and Amanda Newman; five great grandchildren and a brother, Joe Minor and sister, Joyce Boggs both of Bristol, VA. Services are at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Entombment will follow in Rosehill/Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
