Evelyn Pauline Johnson, age 85, of Houston, passed away July 19, 2004, in Houston. She was born Oct. 30, 1918, in Collin County to Cecil S. and Gladys Flossie (Spurgin) Funderburg. She was a homemaker and a beautician and of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Gordon and wife, Ann of Houston, A. C. Gordon and wife, Lois of Houston, Kay Maxwell and husband, Terry of Pasadena, David Johnson and wife, Ann of Garland, and Bettie Nelms of Pasadena; grandchildren, Gayla, Christi, Allan, Stephanie, Bonnie, Mark, Justin, Haylie, and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Heifner. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dorothy Martin; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.
