Sylvan Reid "Tillie" Reynolds, 71, best friend, sweetheart and grandpa passed away Wednesday, May 15, 1996 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center of heart failure. He was born November 11, 1924 in Vernal, Utah to Carlyle and Burnetta Mullins Reynolds.He married Wanda Massey, July 14, 1944; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Sylvan was known as "Tillie the Barber" for almost 50 years in Roosevelt. He was lead trumpet player in the Reynolds Orchestra. He loved golf, his horses and birds and his friends and family. He was an active member of the LDS Church, a high priest, serving in the High Council, Stake Sunday School president in 2 stakes, and was a Stake missionary. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, Roosevelt; sons and spouses, Terry and Gwen Reynolds; Robin and Susan Reynolds, all Roosevelt; brother, Merlyn and Frances Reynolds, Roosevelt; sister, Valoy and Blake Esauk, Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandsons and two granddaughters which were his crowning glory. He was preceded in death by brother, Howard and sister, LaVaur Sorenson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 20th in the Roosevelt East Stake Center. Friends may call at the Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary, Sunday, 6:00-9:00 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to services.
