Bio

The son of Congrave "Connie" Embree and Mary Jane Stipp, he served in the Spanish American War, was a farmer in Monroe County Missouri, he died at McCormick Hospital in Moberly Missouri of a brain hemorrhage, according to his death certificate, informant was his wife. ------------------------- Charles M Embree, resident of Madison, MO for the past 12 years, died in McCormick Hospital about 8 o'clock Friday morning March 26, 1943, after being a patient there since Thursday. Mr. Embree was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Connie Embree and was born near Evansville March 17, 1873. With the exception of a few years spent in the West when a young man, all his life had been spent in this community. He was married to Emma Smith, and to this union 6 children were born, all of whom are living. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Randolph County, and was a veteran of the Spanish American War. Surviving members of his family are his wife: two daughters, Mrs. Ava Schaffer of the home, and Mrs. Estill Blaker of Kansas City: four sons, Manson, near Madison, Emmett, Duncans Bridge, and Estill and Melvin of Hartsburg, Ill. He is survived by 11 grandchildren: two brothers, Henry Embree of Madison, and Ennis of Moberly; two half-brothers, Marion Embree of Moberly and Tandy of Kansas City. Funeral services will be conducted at the Madison Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 1:30 0'clock, by Rev. C.W. Cornn of Moberly. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Madison, MO.
