Funeral services for Violet L. Baker, 83, were held in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Baker died Friday, Jan. 13, in Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston. She was born July 23, 1922 in Knight, the daughter of James L. and Mary Matthews Capps. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Bobby Ann and William Babbs of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Baker of Livingston; son, Keith Alan Baker of Washington, D.C.; granddaughters, Rhonda Marquart and husband Rich, Donna Allen and husband J. D., Tammy Singleton, Jennifer Babbs, Michelle Sanders and husband Rodger and Jessica Ott and husband Adam; seven great-grand-children; sisters, Lois Hilburn and husband Billy of Trinidad and Mettie Houchins of Sturgis, S. D.; brother Harvey Capps; brother-in-law, Robert "Pug" Baker and wife Rosalie of Leggett and sister-in-law, Juanita Colburn of Buffalo. Obituary edited.
