Parents: William Jackson Jolley and Serepta Lorinda Curtis Spouse: Elizabeth Jinkerson Stolworthy md 21 Apr 1875 in Mt. Carmel, Kane, Utah. Daughters of Utah Pioneers Obituary Scrapbook: WILLIAM JACKSON JOLLEY. TROPIC--Funeral services were conducted by Bishop Richard Ott in the ward L. D. S. chapel Tuesday at 10 a. m. for William Jackson Jolley, who died Monday at 8 a. m. at the family home from causes incident to age. Mr. Jolley, 81, a pioneer, Indian war veteran, stock raiser and farmer, was born in Springville, Utah, October 12, 1854, son of William Jackson and Serepetica Curtis Jolley. His parents were called by Brigham Young to pioneer Long Valley in Garfield county. He went with them and remained there 20 years. He was married April 21, 1875, to Elizabeth Stolworthy at Mount Carmel. Two years later they were again married in the St. George temple. From Long Valley he, with his family, moved to Tropic and remained here until 1920. During that time Mr. Jolley was engaged in the livestock business and farming. He also was counselor in the bishopric many years. In 1920 he moved to Monroe, where he resided until 1933, when he returned to Tropic. He was always an ardent L. D. S. church worker and one of the real builders of southern Utah. Besides his widow he is survived by nine sons and daughters, Mrs. Matilda Alstrom, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Elizabeth J. Wadsworth, Shelley; Mrs. Luella G. Lloyd, Springfield, Idaho; William T. Jolley, Arthur Jolley, Elberta, Utah, and Edward M. Jolley, Gunnison, Utah; Mrs. Hazel Giersted, Monroe; Jesse L., Mrs. Christie Ott, Tropic, and 70 living grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
