Bio

Son of Alfons and Annie Frances Marek Gurecky. Private First Class Gurecky, from Ellis County, Texas, was killed in action in South Korea. He served with the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
