Bio

Passed away in Schuyler, NE on Wednesday June 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Faltys, and a son, Mark. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Vernon, Edward and Norbert Engbarth. Lorna married Joseph Faltys on February 25, 1946. They lived on a farm near Heun until 1980 and retired in Schuyler where they enjoyed woodworking and painting together. Survivors of the immediate family include 7 daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Kay and Norman Dvorak, Carolyn and Larry Podolak, Julie and Mike Bideaux, all of Schuyler, Connie and Steve Weides of Lexington, Susan and Leroy Ahlers of Cascade, Mont., Maggie and Terry Van Diest of Lincoln, Verna Galloway of Grand Island; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Suzi Faltys of Norfolk, Tom and Liz Faltys, Bob and Ellen Faltys, all of Schuyler, Lee and Vicki Faltys of Clay Center; sisters, Alice Gibbs, Geneva Kiefer, Margaret Brester and Marlene Hoffman; 50 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Lorna loved caring for her large family. She was an excellent baker and seamstress, she loved to knit and crochet blankets for special occasions. She enjoyed writing and kept diaries of her life. All who knew her enjoyed her quick wit and one-liners. SERVICES were on Friday, June 3 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Heun, with the Rev. Leo A. Rigatuso officiating. Memorials are suggested to Heun Cemetery Fund or the family's choice.
