Obituary: LEGAN, Esther of Broken Arrow, 85 passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. She was born July 27, 1925 in Scurry, Texas to Robert Nicholas Garrett and Maudie (Hess) Garrett. She grew up in West Texas before moving to the Chicago area as a young adult and finally moving to Broken Arrow with her husband in 1976. She worked for Hillcrest Hospital as a nurse's aide until her retirement. She was preceeded in death by her parents, one brother, Alvin Garrett, and her husband, Laverne Legan. Survivors include her sister, Ruth G. Moore, one neice, Peggy Hardy of Broken Arrow, one stepdaughter, Judy Kay (Legan) Misek of Broken Arrow, six grandchildren, Jay Misek, Tina Misek, Bruce Misek, Scott Misek (deceased), Cory Misek and Jessica Misek, 7 great grandchildren, and many beloved neighbors. She will be greatly missed for her wit and independent spirit. Services with be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa.
