Bio

Whitney Messenger Friday, July 18, 1986 Virgil C. Dunn Virgil C. Dunn, age 78 of Rt. 2, Whitney, died Friday evening in the Whitney Hospital. Services were held Sunday, July 13, at 3 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Chapel. Rev. Eddie Booth and Rev. David Leech officiated. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemtery. Mr. Dunn was born May 7, 1908 in Jones County. The son of Tom and Altie Williams Dunn. He lived in the Baytown area for twenty years, but lived most of his life in Hill County. He married Dovie Hulme in 1924 and she preceded him in death in 1957. He later married Maude Halford Arnold in 1957. He was a retired pipe fitter with Exxon. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Maude Dunn of Whitney; three sons, C.D. Dunn of Henrietta, Weldon Dunn of Lake Jackson, Joe L. Dunn of Point Blank; one brother, Robert Dunn of Glen Rose; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
