Dottie Lavonia Fisher, age 67, of Waxahachie passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Renfro Health Care Center of Waxahachie. She was born on September 1, 1943 in Kaufman, Texas, to Bill Smith and Dollie Mosley. Dottie loved helping others and always thought of others and her family before thinking of herself. She was a strong Christian and was a member of Water Street Baptist Church for 10 years and of South Prong Baptist Church for 10 years. Dottie loved cooking, loved music and loved to sing. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were her world. Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Harold Fisher of Waxahachie; step father James A. Mosley of Athens; one daughter Darlene and husband Samuel Vasquez of Waxahachie; two sons Darrell and wife Kathie Fisher of Waxahachie, Harold Donald (Donny) and wife Tina Fisher of Waxahachie; three brothers Bill and Patty Smith of Trinidad, Robert Mosley of Athens, James and Debra Mosley of Terrell; two sisters Sharon Mosley of Canton and Pat and Jimmy Dowdy of Mabank; three granddaughters Brittany and Emily Fisher and Jennifer Neilson; three grandsons Samuel Vasquez, Jr., Aaron Fisher and Darrell Fisher, Jr.; two great-grandchildren Brett Neilson and Aiden Neilson and numerous nieces and nephews. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents and two aunts Nancy Clower and Lavonia Smith. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Bristol Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Samuel Vasquez, Jr., Aaron Fisher, Darrell Fisher, Jr., Larry Fisher, Jr., Mike Kelso, Larry Baker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Compton and Christopher Lawrence Fisher.
