Bio

DANIEL VINKLAREK, 48, born on August 21, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Bernard and Lottie Vinklarek, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2003. Daniel was employed by the Center for the Retarded and worked in their sheltered workshop. He also delivered the Houston Chronicle for 20 years and in 1987, received the Carrier of the Year award. Daniel attended All Saints Catholic Church in the Heights. With the help of his good friend, Dennis Bryan, he was an alter boy and assisted the clergy with Mass for 16 years. He was very fond of his dogs, Rex and Sam, and could be seen walking them mornings and evenings in his neighborhood. Daniel was dearly loved and his loss will be deeply felt by all whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard Vinklarek. He is survived by his mother, Lottie Vinklarek; brother, Emery Vinklarek and Linda Russell; sister, Barbara Vinklarek Cartwright, brother-in-law, Robert Cartwright; two nephews, Charlie Cartwright and Cooper Russell; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The Vinklarek Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 16, 2003, between the hours of 5:00 - 7:00pm with the Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 5:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 17, 2003 at 10:00am in All Saints Catholic Church, 201 E. 10th Street. Rev. Msgr. Adam S. McClosky, Celebrant.
