Published in the Star-Telegram on 1/18/2002. Lorene Bennett 1907 - 2002 Lorene Bennett, 94, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at a Fort Worth nursing center. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Burial: Peoria Cemetery. Visitation: 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Lorene Bennett was born Dec. 13, 1907, in Eldorado, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ivy "Doc" Bennett on Oct. 24, 1984; and son, Kenneth Bennett. Survivors: Children, Arlene Pelphrey of Fort Worth, Geraldine Jean and husband, Darrel of Arlington, Wyvonne Johnson and husband, Charles of Arlington and Ophie Bennett and wife, Kathi of Dallas; sister, Evelyn Latta and husband, Anthony of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
