From her obituary: Waurika newspaper 1983 Waurika-Dora Bacon, 93, a pioneer Addington resident, died Sunday, Oct. 9, in a Warika nursing home after an extended illness. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Addington Baptist Church with the Rev. Teddie Bulla, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, under the direction of the Willis C. Worley and Sons Funeral Home. Born Sept. 7, 1890, in Collin County, Blue Ridge, Texas, she came with her parents, Thomas and Annie Wyrick, to Indian Territory and settled near Stonewall in 1897. The family then moved to the E.B. Ranch, east of Addington. On May 19, 1909, she married J.F. Bacon in Addington. They made their home of a farm in the E.B. Ranch community. Her husband died Dec. 1, 1969. In 1974, Mrs. Bacon moved to Waurika. She was a longtime memberof the Addinton Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Bill Bacon, Comanche; Sonny Bacon, Addington; and Charles Bacon, Crane, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. Eva Harrison, Addington; Loyce Parker, Waurika; Helen Parker, Tyler, Texas; Jean Neely, Pascagula, Miss; and Patsy Gorman, Fort Cobb; two sisters, Vida Berry and Jessie Ewing, both of California; 33 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as bearers.
