Bio

Andrew was born in Detroit, Texas and little is known about his childhood. The family moved to Bowie County, Texas where his mother was apparently from. His parents died 3 years apart and at 20 years old he married Rosie Higgs and took in his younger siblings to raise. He was a farmer all his life. He and Rosie raised 7 children. They were married 59 years when he passed away. Most of his family is buried in this cemetery. He was a respected man who was referred to as Mr. Andrew or Pawpaw to about 21 grandchildren.
