Bio
Ruby Ilene Edge Skeen French, 87, died in Klamath Falls, Oregon on May 19, 2011. Ruby was born on July 20, 1923, to Ervin and Neva Payne Edge in Blunt, South Dakota. The family moved to the Klamath Basin when she was young and she attended Roosevelt Elementary, Altamont Jr. High and then graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1944. She married Danny Skeen and they had one child, Stern. Danny died when Stern was eight, leaving Ruby to raise her son as a single mother. In 1986, she married Harold "Red" French and he died in the early 1990's. Ruby was a caregiver and worked in many adult foster care homes and nursing homes in the Klamath Basin. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion and Members of the Woodcraft. She also attended United Family Fellowship with her family. When she was younger she enjoyed Roller and Ice Skating and Bowling. She is survived by her Son and Daughter in Law: Stern and Betty Skeen; Sister: Elaine Woelk; Brother: Ervin Edge, Jr; Granddaughter: Tashena Patzke; Grandson: Zane Skeen; Great Grandchildren: Matthew Patzke; Ashlyn, Randon and Hayden Zane Skeen all of the Klamath Basin; numerous nieces and nephews and many foster care grandchildren.
