Alvin 'A.T.' Jones LONGVIEW — Graveside services for Alvin "A.T." Jones, 95, of Tyler, will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011, at Summerfield Cemetery in Longview, with the Rev. Christopher Charles officiating. Mr. Jones was born July 8, 1915, in Deadwood, Texas, to John and Ruby Johnson Jones. A longtime resident of Longview, he was a member of Summerfield United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force and a member of VFW Post 4002 in Longview. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Claudia Jones Blankenship. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Ruth Moen Jones of Tyler; sons, Alvin T. Jones and wife, Nelsie, of Canton, and James E. Jones and wife, Alisa, of Chandler; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. today, May 22, 2011, at Welch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701.
