MELBOURNE – Betty Ondricek Gillaspie, 70, of Melbourne died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in a Melbourne nursing home. Born Dec. 20, 1934, she was the daughter of Frank and Laura Opela Ondricek. She was united in marriage to Otho Lee "Slim" Gillaspie on June 23, 1952. She was a homemaker and worked as a dietitian at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne for 18 years. She was a member of Violet Hill Assembly of God Church. Survivors include a son, Rick Gillaspie of Melbourne; a daughter, Jeanette Siem of Dickenson, Texas; her mother of Melbourne; and six grandchildren, Christy Baxter, Cliff Baxter, Clyde Baxter, Miranda Gillaspie, B.J. Gillaspie and Jimmie Lee Gillaspie. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; and her father. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Melbourne Community Church with Eric Downs officiating. Burial will be in Old Philadelphia Cemetery.
