The Lodi (Lodi, Wisconsin) Enterprise, 16 October 1924, page 1, column 4. Almira S. Woodley, daughter of Mary and John Woodley, was born Aug. 22, 1852, on a farm near Okee. She was united in marriage to Samuel A. Holdridge on March 15, 1870. Eight children were born to them of which four survive: Harley A. Holdridge, Aberdeen, S. D., Clarence A. Holdridge, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Robert J. Wilson, Poynette; Roy C. Holdridge, Fond du Lac. Three children died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. John Wallace, passed away July 21, 1898, at the age of 22, leaving one son, Arthur, who together with six other grandchildren and one great granddaughter and two brothers, Thomas J. Woodley, Wyola, Mont., and Anthony Woodley, St. Paul, Minn., survive her. The deceased with her husband and family resided in Lodi until 1905 when they moved to Clyman where her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1916, after which she has made her home most of the time with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Wilson. Her death occurred suddenly Monday afternoon, Oct. 6th. Mrs. Holdridge united with the Presbyterian church at Lodi in early womanhood and was still a member of that church until her death. She was a great lover of her home and family and her most happy hours were when she was surrounded by her children. Those who attended the funeral from away were her sons: Clarence, wife and daughter, Detroit, Mich., Harley, Aberdeen, S. D.; Roy, wife and two children, Arthur, wife and daughter, Fond du Lac; and nephew, George Schriner, and wife, Lodi.
