Greenville (Texas) Herald Banner, Mon, 16 Jan 1989, page A2, Deaths, Jewel Bookout Graveside services for Greenville resident Jewel Hazal-Bookout will be 2 p.m. today at Pike Cemetery under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry D. Ravert officiating, Mrs Bookout died Sunday merning at Citizens General Hospital. Born in Hope, Ark., she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Alice Hazal. She married Wesley Bookout in Leonard on May 1, 1920. A homemaker, she was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Citizens General Hospital. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Charles of Garland; two sisters, Faye Cawthon of Celeste and Ester Smith of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945. Pallbearers are Bill Elam, Mark W. Charles, Mitchell L. Charles and J.W. Hazal.
