From Civil War Military Records: Asa R Rogers age 37 of Lacelle,IA nativity Kentucky enlisted Jul 12 1862 into Co B 18th Iowa Infantry. Discharged for disability Feb 4 1863 St Louis,MO. Asa then enlisted into Co D 8th Iowa Cavalry Jul 13 1863. His age was listed as 41, residence Osceola,IA and same nativity. Died of disease Mar 3 1865 Keokuk Hospital. Buried Oakland Cemetery now Keokuk National Cemetery
