Bio

Jim was born in Houston, TX on September 21, 1933 to Edwin and Lucille Breeding. Jim grew up in Corpus Christi, TX where he graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1951. He continued his education with a degree in Religion from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX in 1955. Jim attended Brite Divinity School for one and a half years. He married Diane Travis in 1956 and they lived in Ft. Worth before moving to Houston, and then to Kingsville, TX in 1963, where he began working for Humble Oil & Refining Co. (Exxon). He worked at the King Ranch Gas Plant as a Plant Foreman at the time of his retirement in August of 1992. While in high school and college, Jim was on the track team. He was an avid supporter of Texas Christian University, holding some leadership roles in the Alumni program. He loved to attend TCU football games as long as he was able. During his time with Exxon, Jim also helped supervise in the cleanup of the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Jim was a man of strong faith and served his church well in many leadership roles. He was a loving and caring husband and father with strong bonds to family. Jim loved supporting his children who were all competitive swimmers from an early age through high school. Sometimes he thought he was the coach!! He loved making fudge every year at Christmas time which was definitely a tradition in the family. He was also known for his famous sourdough pancakes, a recipe passed down from his family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Edwin Breeding and Lucille Breeding. He is survived by his wife Diane Travis Breeding of Round Rock, TX , and Children: Son, Jay E. Breeding of Plano, his wife Susan, and their two children Amy and Janelle; Daughter, Lisa Breeding of Round Rock, TX; Daughter, Debra Cagle of The Woodlands, TX, her husband Tim Cagle and their three children, Andrew, Travis and Seth; Daughter Laura Arrington of Round Rock, TX, her husband Keving Arrington and their two children, Aubree and Kenzie; Sister, Dorothy Farmer and husband Don; Sister, Peggy Kramer and husband Dr. Fred Kramer; Carol Zrubek and husband Franklin Zrubek. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Round Rock Christian Church, 22 Chalice Way, Round Rock, TX 78664.
