Memorial services for Willard G. Foust age 83 of West Point, NE will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Church in West Point, NE. Willard bequeathed his body to the State of Nebraska Anatomical Board. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed in Willard's name to: Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MFGA) Attn: Tor Holton 355 Lexington Ave., 15th Floor New York, NY 10017 Willard passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE. Willard Gene Foust was born May 5, 1927 in Colfax Co., NE to Clemen and Edith (Kroeger) Foust. He completed school through the 8th Grade and farmed with his father in Colfax County. The family later moved into Richland, NE. Willard served in the United States Coast Guard and after being honorably discharged returned to Richland, working various jobs in the area. On July 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Finley at the Methodist Church in Schuyler, NE. The couple later moved to Hasting, NE where he was employed by the Firestone Tire Co. and later to Storm Lake, IA. In 1974, he retired and the couple moved to West Point, NE. He worked part-time for D&S Tire and later Hoegemeyer Seed Co. until last year. He was a member of Trinity Church in West Point and had served as Trustee, was a former member of the Elk's Lodge and belonged to the Rotary Club, where he had served as President, both in Storm Lake, IA. While in Storm Lake he was recognized by the Jaycees as Boss of the Year. His hobbies included going to coffee, making bird houses, model trains, gardening and visiting with people. Survivors include- Wife- Eleanor Foust of West Point, NE Daughter- Jane and husband Tom Jackson of Blair, NE and family Lindsey and husband Jesse Cihal; Melissa Jackson Son- Bob and wife Karen Foust of Sarasota, FL and family Alaina Covert; Deanna Covert Daughter- Karen and husband Rod Beyke of Stanton, NE and family Alina and husband Ryan Surber; Will Beyke; Cole Beyke; and Dacia Beyke Daughter- Evonne and husband Dave Schuetze of West Point, NE and family Michael Schuetze; Matthew Schuetze Sisters- Iola and husband Robert Mentzer of Schuyler, NE Doris Saalfeld of Grand Island, NE Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive Willard. Willard was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
