Howard Klausen, 84, of Boelus, died Monday, May 9, 2011, in Boelus. A family inurnment at West Lawn Cemetery in Grand Island is planned at a later date. Mr. Klausen was born June 22, 1926, in Rockville to Paul and Sena (Jacobsen) Klausen. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Kathryn Klausen of Boelus; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Cora Klausen of Topeka, Kan., Denis and Doris Klausen of Boelus, Pat and Michele Klausen of Lincoln; a daughter and a son-in-law, Susan and Alan Cornell of Kent, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Klausen of Cincinnati, Ohio. Additional survivors include grandchildren Jimmy and Kathryn Ann Klausen, Amy Ronchetto and Doug Klausen, Tracy Ensor and Ryan Klausen, Heather Cornell, Jonathan and Ethan and Molly Klausen; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Karalynn and Kadin Ronchetto, Marcus Ensor. Howard graduated from Loup City High School. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Eilenstine on Jan. 23, 1949, at her parent's home in Grand Island. Howard and Kathryn raised their family on the farm south of Boelus and later moved to Doniphan They lived in Florida for 25 years before moving back to Boelus. Howard enjoyed fishing, casinos, cards, crosswords and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Earl of Rockville.
