Evelyn L. Pollard, age 91, of North Bend, NE, died Saturday, May 07, 2011 at Birchwood Manor in North Bend. She was born August 25, 1919 at Edholm, NE to Anton and Josephine (Vidlak) Viglicky. She grew up in Edholm and married William J. Pollard February 17, 1946 at Tilden, NE. William died September 24, 1987. She lived at Linwood and Schuyler, NE and worked at Saeger's Drug Store in Schuyler. Evelyn moved to North Bend in 1946 and was the co-owner of Pollard Implement Company of North Bend until 1988. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend, St. Ann's Altar Society, and Christian Mothers. Survivors include: Son – Patrick Pollard of North Bend, NE; daughter – Kitty and husband Melvin Bailey of Schuyler, NE; brother – Richard & wife, Evelyn Viglicky of Hastings, NE; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: parents; husband, William; 1 brother, Frederic Viglicky and 1 sister, Arlene Ertner. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Father Donald Cleary will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, from 3-8 P.M. with family receiving friends 6-8 P.M. and a Vigil Service/Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Schuyler, NE. Memorials may be directed to North Bend Rescue Squad, St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend or donor's choice. Moser Memorial Chapel, North Bend is in charge of arrangements.
