Robinson was born January 7, 1851, at Galva, Ill. And moved with her parents when a small child to Hiawatha, Kan. where she grew to womanhood. She was married there to Samuel R. Housh in 1871. In the year 1880 they moved in a covered wagon to Nemaha Co. and settled along the Nemaha where Brock was later located. At that time this was only a trading post with a grocery store, grist mill, blacksmith shop and a post office. As there was no railroad there until 1882 they hauled the lumber for their buildings from Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Housh became the parents of eleven children, seven of them survive her. They are Charles H. Housh and Mrs. Zede Pixley of Brock, Nebr., Mrs. George Peterson and Mrs. Rex Burdick, Nebraska City, Mrs. Charles Merchand, Julian, Nebr., Mrs. Arthur Houchin, Gothenburg, Nebr. and Bert Housh, Kansas City, Mo. She also leaves twenty-five grandchildren, and thirty-one great grandchildren. Mr. Housh preceded her in death seventeen years ago. She was married to Solomon Baldwin some years later and he passed away June 26, 1932. Mrs. Baldwin had been in failing health for some time, but became very ill Sunday from a stroke and was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zede Pixley where she was tenderly cared for and made as comfortable as possible during her last days on earth. She passed away December 22, 1932. She was a member of Brock Christian church for a long time, and her funeral services were conducted at this church by the pastor, E. C. Davis, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. Burial was at Lafayette cemetery, beside Mr. Housh. Six grandsons acted as pall bearers. The arrangements were in charge of Porter's Mortuary of Nebraska City.
