Bio

Mrs. Ida Sweat REEVES — Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Hendricks Savoie Sweat, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in Reeves Bible Church. The Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Burial will be in LeBlanc Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is 4:30-10 p.m. today in the funeral home, and from noon Wednesday in the church. Mrs. Sweat died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2000, in her residence. A long-time resident of LeBlanc, she had lived in Lake Charles for a short time. She was a member of Reeves Bible Church. Survivors include five sons, Jimmie Savoie of LeBlanc, Jack and Joe Savoie, both of Westlake, Jerry Savoie of Moss Bluff, and James "Buddy" Sweat of Iowa, La.; four daughters, Dolores Bankester of LeBlanc, Melba Carol Hungerford of Ragley, Judith Savoie of Seabrook, Texas, and Kathy Savoie of Lake Charles; one brother, Jessie Hendricks of LeBlanc; two sisters, Ruth Armstrong of Sulphur and Mollie Watson of Iowa; 30 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-greaterandchildren Donations may be made to Camp Pearl, P.O. Box 10, Reeves, LA 70658, the family said.
