From Moberly Monitor-Index, Thursday, 11-4-1954, pg. 1, Ancestry.com CHARLES MIKEL, FORMERLY OF MOBERLY, KILLED Accident in Arizona Fatal to Father of Mrs Chrisman Charles Mikel, 76, former Moberlyan and father of Mrs. Kenneth Chrisman, 1709 Park, was killed last night in an automobile accident in Phoenix, Ariz., his home. Details of the accident are not known to Mrs. Chrisman Mr. and Mrs. Chrisman left today for Kansas City and will leave there late today by plane for Phoenix, to accompany the body to Moberly. It will be brought to the Snow Funeral Home, but the time of arrival has not been decided and funeral arrangements will be made later. Mr. Mikel also is survived by a son, Harold Mikel, Concord, Calif., who is ill; and by three brothers and two sisters, Jim Mikel, Marceline, John Mikel, San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Harry Miles, South Bend, Ind., and Bob Mikel and Mrs. Frank Cobb, both of Moberly. Mrs. Mikel, who died here in 1919, was the former Miss Cynthia Ann Patton of Moberly. Born May 19, 1878, in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Mikel was one year old when his parents came in 1879 to a place west of Huntsville, where he grew up. He spent his married life in Moberly in a home on Woodland avenue and for many years was a foreman at the Brown Shoe Company plant. He left Moberly about 25 years ago. -from contributor Tom Waters
