Funeral services for Mrs. Hardy (Mattie) Lanier, 80, were at 10 a.m. Friday in the Pentecostal Church. The Rev. B.L. Clark, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. J.W. Evans of Lake Charles. Burial was in the Creel Cemetery in Bel under the direction Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Mrs. Lanier died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. She was a native of LeBlanc and had been a resident of Kinder for many years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors are her husband; two sons, L.E. Cole of Baytown, Tex., and Newton Eugene Lanier of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. D.I. Harrell of Lake Charles; seven sisters, Mrs. E.A. Cole of LeBlanc; Mrs. Bruce Johnson of Kinder, Mrs. J.L. Spears of DeRidder, Mrs. Albert Cole of Bel, Mrs. J.P. Glass and Mrs. John Brown, both of Lake Charles, and Mrs. C.A. Perkins of DeQuincy; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
