American Press Monday, October 24, 1932, Page 1 S. R. KINGREY DIES Calcasieu Pioneer' Resident leaves 80 Descendants Death came to S. R. Kingrey, pioneer resident of Old Imperial Calcasieu parish, at St. Patrick's hospital at. 4:30 Monday morning. He leaves 80 living descendants, including 18 children, 44 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was 74 years old. Mr. Kingrey was born July 11, 1858, in the old Calcasieu parish. He spent all of his life in this vicinity. He was a prominent farmer and stockman, and served several years as postmaster at Gillis, and also at Pearl, La. For two years he was mayor of Kinder. For several years he has lived in Lake Charles, 728 Iris street. He was twice married, first to Elisabeth Airhart, on Feb. 2, 1878. After her death he was married to Miss Jane Elizabeth Collins, on Sept. 28, 1905, who survives him. There were nine children born to each union. The children are Mrs., P.E. Parker of Reeves; Mrs. O. D. Parsons of Oakdale; Mrs. S. R. Neely of Merryville; Mrs. D. Dozier of Beaumont; Mrs. R.L McGann of Lake Charles; Miss Patsy Kingrey of Lake Charles; George Klngrey of Ragley; W. S. Kingrey of Kinder; J, J. Kingrey of Woodsboro, Texas; J, A. Kingrey of Lake Charles; W. M. Kingrey of Lake Charles; Leo Kingrey of Port Arthur; Malcolm Kingrey of Port Arthur; Albert Kingrey of Lake Charles; Harvey Kingrey of Lake Charles; Mrs. J. N. Brown of Lake Charles; E. F. Kingrey, Lake Charles, and J. F. Kingrey of Gillis. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in the Barnes creek cemetery, near Reeves, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, with Rev. Paul Leeds of Kinder and Rev. Z. T. Young of Lake Charles officiating. The funeral cortege will leave the home In Lake Charles at 8 o'clock. Burke & Trotti is in charge. Pallbearers will be Clifford Brown, Carl Brown, Cecil Brown, Roland Parsons. Nolan Klngrey and J. S. Kingery.
