In 1963 he moved his family to Lubbock where he enjoyed success as a partner in Northern Star Seed Farms, a certified cottonseed business, which introduced several new varieties of cottonseed to the South Plains and later owned and operated Campbell Seed Farms. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, O.F. Campbell, Jr. and Emmitt Campbell.
