HEAFEY-HEAFEY-HOFFMANN-DWORAK-CUTLER WEST CENTER CHAPEL 78th & West Center Omaha, NE. 402-391-3900 ---------------------------------------- From the Omaha World Herald Newspaper: Omaha police said Tuesday that preliminary autopsy results were inconclusive on the 62-year-old woman whose body was pulled from Regency Lake. Detectives are awaiting additional toxicology results as they continue to investigate how Mary L. LaPuzza died. Two men jogging near the lake just before 6:30 a.m. Monday spotted LaPuzza's body in the water about 15 feet from the northwest shore, across from Regency Lake and Tennis Club. She was dressed in jogging or tennis clothes. Family members remembered LaPuzza as a caring, family-oriented woman. They said she had no medical conditions. Her husband, Paul LaPuzza, said his wife had worked as a coronary and allergy nurse before leaving the profession to raise her family. The couple's home at 9807 Ascot Drive is about three-quarters of a mile from Regency Lake. Paul LaPuzza said he did not know why she was at the lake and that he last saw her about 11 p.m. Sunday at home. He said he contacted police at 7:30 a.m. Monday when he realized she was missing. Mary LaPuzza was one of 10 children and was originally from Humphrey, Neb. "She was just a wonderful woman, a strong family woman, very religious," he said. The two married in 1975. She is preceded in death by a brother, Ron Classen.
