Bio

Alva was the son of James Madison and and his second wife, Martha Ellen (Robertson)Hollingshead. According to the1910 and 1920 census records, Alva was born in Alabama - poss.in Marion County. He married Tula Lay on 22 Sept. 1933 in Holdenville, Hughes Co., Ok. They were the parents of eight children: Alva E. b. 1934; Melva R.b.1936; Kenneth R.b.1938; Barbara A. b.1940; James L.b.1942; R. Wade b.1944; Timothy L.b. 1947; and Donald R. b. 1950. Tula was the dau. of Floyd Andrew and Laura Anna "Annie" (Kelley) Lay.
