Moberly Monitor Index, October 1, 1971, page 6. George F. Lusby, 83, of Huntsville, died at the Community Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks, at 6:30 a.m. Thursday. The son of Joseph and Florence Lusby, he was born at Armstrong. He lived in and around Higbee for many years, where he was a miner and a farmer, and he moved to Huntsville in 1954. He was a member of the Eads Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ona Lusby; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Stuck, of Independence; and Mrs. Elmo Smith, of Kansas City; five sons, John, William, and Edwin Lusby, all of Kansas City; Raymond Lusby, St. Paul, Minn.; and Steve Lusby, Moro, Ill. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Virgil Lyon, of Higbee; one brother, Thompson Lusby, Columbia; and 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services at the Patton Funeral Home at Huntsville with burial at the Tucker Cemetery south of Higbee. -Obituary thanks to Patty Shannon
