Services for James Good, a retired Dallas firefighter, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Mr. Good, 64, died of a heart attack Friday at his Lake of the Pines home in northeast Texas. He moved there in 1987 but spent most of his life in Mesquite. Mr. Good began with the Dallas Fire Department in 1954 and remained there until his retirement in 1974. Earlier, he was a private in the Army and served in the Korean War. Whether as a firefighter or as a fisherman on Lake of the Pines, Mr. Good always enjoyed helping people, said his wife, Norma Good. "He was always lending a helping hand," she said. "He was always available to anyone who needed help." In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Willie Good; daughters, Marsha Chambers and Barbara Smith; brothers, Lowell Good and Don Good; sisters, Hilda Crain and Myrile Luttrell; and two grandsons, all of Mesquite.
