DEKORRA - Cyril Havlovic, 81, of Dekorra Township, passed away at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007. Cyril was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Prague, Neb., the son of Frank and Carolina Hajek Havlovic. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He worked as a tool-and-die specialist for International Harvester for 29 years before retiring in 1988. Cyril was a fisherman and enjoyed working on small motors. He was an avid, wellversed Bible reader. He is survived by his cousins, John (June) Havlovic of Franklin Park, Ill., Frank (Elaine) Havlovic of Lyons, Rock(Beverly) Havlovic of Melrose Park, Ill., Marian Rodriguez of Lincolnwood, Ill., and Florence Havlovic of Janesville; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his cousins, Ann and George Lang, James Havlovic and Ernest and Caroline Havlovic. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home, Portage, with Father Jim Murphy presiding. Burial will follow in Dekorra Cemetery with military graveside services provided by Portage area veterans. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
