Lucile Shonka of Lincoln, formerly of Columbus, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Independence House/Memory Care Unit in Lincoln. Lucile Shonka was born May 25, 1917 in Schuyler, NE to Wencel and Katerina (Fendrich) Bame. She was a 1934 graduate of Schuyler High School. On May 25, 1939 she married Glenn Shonka at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Schuyler. They lived in David City, Columbus, Valparaiso, Grand Island, Monte Vista, Co before returning to Columbus in 1956. Lucile was a mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, CDA, and participated in perpetual adoration. Lucile and Glenn were avid Shamrock Booster Club supporters. Lucile enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing, playing the piano, reading, playing bridge, working crossword puzzles, and entertaining family and friends.
