Services have been held for Frances Henrietta Akin of Albany, who died Jan. 23 of liver failure. The former Creswell resident was 60. Akin was born April 30, 1941, in Eugene to Rufus and Frances Winter Claghorn. She graduated from Creswell High School in 1958. She married Kenneth Akin in Reno, Nev., on Jan. 22, 1970. Before moving to Albany, Akin lived in Salem. Her interests included sewing and Tri Chem liquid embroidery. She served as a liquid embroidery instructor. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tom Claghorn of Salem and Timothy Claghorn of Cottage Grove; two daughters, Teresa McKillop of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Deborah Magallanes of Blackfoot, Idaho; a brother, Donald Claghorn; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Pamela McKillop, died Aug. 7, 1999. Burial will be at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery. England's Creswell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
