Bio
James Patrick Pat Piper, age 62, passed away in his home in Austin on Monday, September 30, from cancer. He was born on July 20, 1940, in Ft. Worth, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Keven Kip Piper; his mother, Faye Piper; and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, James V. Piper and his son, James Christopher Piper. Pat graduated from Rice University and Duke Law School. He served in the Air Force with the Judge Advocate General's office in Berlin, Germany. He then worked in the Aviation Tort Division of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. Recently he and his wife owned and operated MTC Interactive, Inc, an Austin-based web development company. Pat was a former member of Epworth-Parker Methodist Church in Houston and a current member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Austin. Chapel services will be conducted on Thursday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park-Lawndale in Houston, followed by a Masonic graveside ceremony. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, October 13, at the home of Terry and Jenny Cloudman in Austin (512-345-5292). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pats memory to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78759.
