Jay Alvin Williams, son of William F and Laura M Richards Williams, was born at Genoa, Nebraska on April 19, 1891. He was one of seven children. Jay recieved his education and attained manhood in several communities in Nebraska and Kansas. He moved to Nemaha County as a young man. He operated the Busy Bee Cafe in Auburn, operated a cafe in Peru, and farmed. He also operated a car dealership in Peru and in Imperial, Nebraska. Mr Williams moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1933. He operated several different businesses and was a real estate broker there. On December 10, 1935, he was united in marriage to Ann Wallace in Kansas City. Mr Williams had been in failing health for the past seven years and hospitalized several times. He entered Research Hospital in Kansas City on April 7. It was there that he passed away on April 14, 1978, having reached the age of 86 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Ann, of Kansas City; one daughter, Mrs Alvin Stover of Auburn; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Williams of Peru and Jess Williams of Auburn; one sister, Mrs Nettie Nincehelser of Nebraska City; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services wereheld April 17 at Casey-Witzenburg chapel in Auburn, conducted by Rev Ward Merritt. Duaine McKnight was soloist and Mrs Kenneth Andrew was organist. Pallbearers were Earl Stivers, John Williams, Gordon Palmer, Wayne Williams, Kenneth Williams, Herbert Nincehelser. Contributor: Lizzie (47370782)
